The Southeast Storm field hockey club consists of girls from all over the Washington metro area, ranging in age from about 13 to 19. Aimed primarily at high school players, the club participates in an ambitious indoor tournament schedule in the winter, a more casual spring season with several outdoor tournaments and a fall season that culminates in a trip to the annual National Hockey Festival in California around Thanksgiving.

During the summer, there are twice-weekly evening sessions with umpires. The games are informal and intended to keep the girls playing and in shape.

The club has been taking teams to national tournaments since 2003.

2009

January: National Indoor Tournament (NIT) qualifier, Rockville, MD
Finished second in the U-19 division with a 5-1-0 record.

March: NIT, Virginia Beach, VA. Finished second in U-19 Pool C with a 4-2-1 record.

November: National Hockey Festival, Indio, CA . Finished second in U-19 Pool Q with a 4-0-2 record.

2008

February: Disney Field Hockey Showcase, Orlando, FL. Finished second in U-19 Pool R; 4-1-0 record.

November: National Hockey Festival, Indio, CA. Finished fourth in U-19 Pool I; 1-2-3 record.

2007

November: National Hockey Festival, Indio, CA. Finished second in U-19 Pool N; 4-0-2 record

2006

November: Took two U-19 teams to the National Hockey Festival, Indio, CA.
Southeast BLUE played in Pool I and finished with a 1-4-1 record.
Southeast WHITE played in Pool S and finished 0-5-1.

2005

November: National Hockey Festival, Palm Beach Cty, FL. Finished fourth in U-19 Pool E; 1-2-3 record.

2004

November: Took two U-19 teams to the National Hockey Festival in Palm Beach Cty, FL.
Southeast RED finished fourth in its pool with a 1-1-4 record.
Southeast GREEN finished second in its pool; 3-1-2.

2003

November: National Hockey Festival, Indio, CA

"Few things have meant more to me than Southeast Storm Field Hockey. I had the privilege to train with Coach DeGrenier for many years and was able to develop from a good high school player to a top-tiered Division I recruit. Southeast Storm opened many doors for me: the club was the perfect compliment to our rigorous high school practices, giving me an edge on my competition and I had the opportunity to attend the National Hockey Festival with Southeast Storm to get greater exposure to Division I coaches. Ultimately it was because of Coach DeGrenier’s experience, training and guidance that I was recruited by Brown University where I started for all four years and earned All-Ivy and Academic All-Ivy honors. With an emphasis on fundamental skills, teamwork and a passion for the game, Southeast Storm Field Hockey is the ideal club for developing elite players. Because of this common passion for the club and our sport, many of my former teammates from Southeast Storm have become very close friends and I feel forever indebted to this club for the lasting memories both on and off the field. I attribute so much of my success as a player and student-athlete to Southeast Storm and truly could not have had such an incredible hockey career without the experiences I had with the team."

Here are the forms you need to participate with Southeast Storm: A waiver, various player information and an emergency form.

A waiver that is required before you can play. Print it, fill it out and bring it with you when you come to practice.

Next, there's the emergency form that we need for when you go with us on a trip out of town. We need this to know what to do if you get hurt or have a medical problem.
